DeWALT drills recalled over shock hazard, over 100,000 units affected

TOWSON, Md. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling certain DeWALT drills due to shocking hazard.

The CPSC says that the wiring in DeWALT DWD110 and DWD112 drills can make contact with internal moving parts, posing a shock hazard. 

About 122,00 units are reportedly affected and need to be repaired. Many of the DeWALT drills look alike, so be sure to check the label to determine their specific drill.

These drills were sold at stores in the United States and Canada, including Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon.com, and other hardware stores. They were sold between September 2017 and November 2018 for any price between $60 and $70. 

If you own one of the affected drills, immediately stop using them and contact DeWALT at 855-752-5259. That toll-free number is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. DeWALT can also be contacted through email at recall@sbdinc.com or online on their website.
