Design competition announced for Pulse Nightclub Memorial

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Now is your chance to help design Orlando's next Pulse Nightclub Memorial.

The 'One Pulse' Foundation has announced a design competition for the National Pulse Memorial and Museum.

The museum plans to address the history of the LGBTQ community and the importance of safe spaces.

'One Pulse' hopes the museum can inspire others to strive for a better world.

"We hope that it will continue to tell the story of how hearts and minds were changed, and how children and adults can make their lives, and make our world a better place," said CEO of the OnePulse Foundation Barbara Poma.

The design winner will be announced in October.

The memorial and museum is slated to open in 2022. It be on the site of Pulse nightclub.
