Deputies search for missing elderly Windermere woman
WINDERMERE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Orange County deputies are searching for a missing Windermere woman. Ruth Doherty, 79, walked away from her home on Blue Major Drive in the Summerport Subdivision sometime around 10 a.m. on Monday. The subdivision is located along Winter Garden Vineland Road near Lake Butler Blvd.
Doherty is believed to be wearing a pink shirt, tan Bermuda shorts, a blue baseball cap, and green Keen closed toed sandals. There is concern for Ruth Doherty's well-being, because she is suffering from memory loss causing her to become disoriented, easily lost and unable to find her way home, and she may not remember her name. Ruth also suffers from other medical conditions and left home without her required medication.
