Deputies investigate brutal stabbing at bus stop

A man is in critical condition after he was stabbed a bus stop in Orange County.  

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of an assault at 6100 West Colonial Drive just before 10 p.m. on Monday. 

The victim, a 46-year-old Hispanic man, was sitting at the bus stop when he was approached by a suspect who began to stab him, investigators say. Bystanders called 911 and pointed out the suspect, described as a 38-year-old black man.  Deputies said he briefly fought with them as they attempted to take him into custody.  

The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The deputies and suspect were not injured.
The name of the suspect was not immediately released.
