FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Seventies heartthrob David Cassidy is putting his Fort Lauderdale home up for auction.

A federal bankruptcy court has ordered the former pop singer and star of "The Partridge Family" to auction off his waterfront estate on Sept. 9.

Cassidy's 6,400-square-foot home includes six bedrooms and six bathrooms. Other amenities include a swimming pool and a dock and boat lift.

According to Broward County property records, Cassidy bought the home in 2001 for $1.1 million.

Fisher Auction Company is overseeing the sale. Bidders must prequalify to participate in the auction.

The same auction company also handled the 2013 sale of the Miami Beach mansion where fashion Gianni Versace lived and died. That property sold for $41.5 million.
