Brevard Schools adopt new LGBT student policy

Brevard County Public Schools has approved an anti-discrimination policy that adds lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people to its list of protected classes.

The historic  vote came after about four hours of public comment where dozens of speakers argued for and against the policy.

One of the biggest concerns from opponents is that this policy change would allow transgender
bathrooms.  School board members insisted that is not the case.

They voted 3-2 to pass the measure.
