Boys, 12 and 14, accused of stealing rifle ammunition
TITUSVILLE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Titusville Police say a 12-year-old and 14-year-old boy are facing charges after stealing a package full of assault rifle ammunition.
The theft was caught on camera Wednesday. Investigators say it shows the 12-year-old running up to a Titusville home and stealing a box off a porch.
Officers went door to door in the neighbor Thursday, after learning what was inside the package.
Police say tips led them to the young suspect and a 14-year-old who was with him during the theft. They say the boys didn’t know what was inside the package when they took it and they stashed the ammo after opening the box.
The ammo was recovered along with another stolen package Thursday night, according to investigators. Police say the pair will be charged.
