Arrests made in child sex sting operation in Lake County

TAVARES, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Detectives with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes unit announced on Wednesday the arrests of 10 men accused of attempting to meet up with children for sex.

The men were arrested for various sex-related crimes.

Detectives conducted a week-long operation targeting the suspects through social media or internet chat rooms.  They posed as either a 13- or 14- year old child or the caregiver of the child.

Suspects arrested by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office are:  Gunner J. Artibee, 25, of Mount Dora; Austin J. Guiffre, 24, of Tavares; Craig A. Harley, 32, of Orlando; John Ghaly, 29, of Orlando; Steven G. Head, 48, of Ocala; Martin L. Wilkins, 55, of Lake Panasoffkee; Michael A. Castillo, 22, of Mount Dora; Richard K. Hummer, 52, of Leesburg; John F. Daiuto, Jr., 65, of Leesburg; Shawn F. Kenyon, 46, of Ocala.
