Apple announces system update in response to battery life

Tech giant Apple has taken steps to improve the battery life and performance on its iPhones and iPads.

Apple has unveiled its iOS 11.3 operating system update.

It's equipped with a feature that will inform users when their battery needs to be replaced.

Customers will also have the ability to disable an option that was responsible for slowing down iPhones which caused devices to shutdown abruptly.

Apple faced criticism and several lawsuits after admitting to slowing down devices with older batteries.
