3 dead in head-on crash in Osceola County
LAKE MARY, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The Florida Highway Patrol has identified three people who were killed early Tuesday morning when two vehicles collided in a head-on crash in Osceola County.
The crash that happened around 5:50 a.m. on State Road 60 near Peavine Road.
Troopers say Vinicius Santos, 34, was driving a 2011 Honda van, traveling eastbound on SR 60, when he veered into the westbound lanes and struck an oncoming 2008 Honda Pilot, occupied by the driver, Teoldulo Diaz Lopez, 53, and a passenger, Carlos Estrada Sanchez, 25.
Santos and Lopez died at the scene. Sanchez was transported to Indian River Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Results of a toxicology report are pending for the driver of the van to determine whether alcohol was involved, as the crash remains under investigation.
