28th student in Volusia County charged for making school threat

DEBARY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A DeBary teen has become the 28th student in Volusia County to be charged for making threats.

The teen is accused of saying he was going to shoot up the University High School.

Police say that he admitted to it, claiming he was "trying to be funny."

Volusia County Sheriff Chitwood says that these threats are no laughing matter.
