15-year-old boy bit by shark in New Smyrna Beach
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Beach patrol officials say a 15-year-old boy from Atlantic Beach was bit by a shark while surfing in New Smyrna Beach on Saturday.
Officials say the teen surfer was about 75 yards from shore in the jetty area at around 6 p.m. when a shark bit him on the foot.
The teen was taken by ambulance to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
Officials say his injuries are not life-threatening.
We're told this is the second shark bite of the year.
