MASCOTTE, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The Orange County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested an Orlando teenager who is accused of murdering a Lake County man.
The 14-year-old boy was taken into custody at Southwest Middle School in Orlando on Thursday afternoon and charged in the killing of Timothy Allen West, 39.
Detectives said West was fatally shot on February 10 in Mascotte. Authorities said the teenager used to live in Leesburg, and they believe he killed West over a drug deal.
He is now with the Division of Juvenile Justice. Deputies said this is an ongoing investigation.
