Heavy fire ripped through an Orange County home on Sunday night.

Flames lit up the night sky around 10 p.m. on Sunday, as the home burned from almost every side. When Orange County Fire Rescue got the call, they raced to the scene, getting there in less than four minutes.

Upon arrival, almost the entire house was up in flames. Firefighters had to attack the fire from the outside.

The four people living inside the home escaped the fire on their own and firefighters were able to rescue their dog. One person was rushed to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters believe that the home involved is a total loss. Crews were on scene on Monday morning checking for hot spots. The Red Cross is helping the homeowners in the meantime.

The State Fire Marshall will investiate the cause of the fire.
