Potential Tropical Cyclone Six formed in the Gulf of Mexico late Sunday afternoon, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.

Storms will become widespread with heavy rain and lightning for the rest of the evening. Because of the same areas getting hit over and over again from this past week and this weekend, flooding is possible so make sure you are being careful.

As we enter the peak of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, a system is "likely" to develop into at least a tropical depression, if not Tropical Storm Francine. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) designated the tropical disturbance as Invest 91L on Saturday, which allows the agency to run additional computer models to calculate potential storm development and its track.

Sunday will be hot and humid with thunderstorms across much of the region by late afternoon and into the evening.

: After a mostly dry start to our morning, showers and storms will once again return this afternoon across Central Florida. These will begin to form and move into the region as early as noon, with best chances of showers and storms starting at around 4pm.

The National Hurricane Center is tracking potential tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico, and conditions are starting to look more favorable. A moderate chance exists for a system to form early to mid-next week, as two tropical waves are expected to combine, possibly completing one or two loops.

Saturday will start out dry much like the last two days but widespread storms will arrive late afternoon and into the evening.
