A Florida couple finally got floodwater out of their home after historic rain a week ago in Titusville. An estimated 3.5 million gallons of water inundated Greg and Carolina Sones’ property following torrential rain on October 26. They spent the last week couch surfing with friends and neighbors.

The rebuilding process is now underway in parts of the Caribbean. Hurricane Melissa damaged several islands and left at least 60 people dead. In Jamaica, the storm caused an estimated $22 billion in damage, and officials say it could take 10 years or more to rebuild the island. Late last month, flash floods and nearly 20 inches of rain soaked the Space Coast. Motorists were stranded, and homes flooded. For a week, several roads were closed due to flooding. Pumps were installed all over town, and residents were trying to rebuild.

2 Titusville officers hospitalized after car crash

Two Titusville police officers were injured in a vehicle crash on Nov. 3 while responding to an armed disturbance call just before 9 a.m. Security footage showed two women were fighting in a parking lot and one women got in her car to run away. When police responded, they crashed into each other.

Man faces charges after 1 dead, 1 critical in Ormond Beach

On Nov. 3, Scott March was arrested by Daytona Beach Police, and charged with loitering and prowling. Hours later, Florida Highway Police said March is also being charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving resulting in serious body injury in connection to the vehicle crash. His first court appearance was cancelled after further charges were added.

Orange County increases patrols to find attack suspect

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man they say sexually attacked a woman at gunpoint near an Orlando park around 4 a.m., on Nov. 1 in the area of Barber Park in the 3700 block of Gatlin Avenue. Anyone with information on the attack is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 has been offered for information.
