Florida mom relieved suspect in Daytona Beach arrested

A Florida mom is relieved after police arrested a man accused of exposing himself and grabbing the arm of a girl inside a store. Police arrested the man on charges of indecent exposure and kidnapping. The girl screamed for help and was not harmed, police said. Stephan Sterns allowed to wear suit during trial

A judge ruled that Stephan Sterns, the Florida man accused of abusing and killing Madeline Soto, 30, in 2024, will be allowed to wear a suit during his sexual abuse trial, and be allowed to use a felt tip pen. He will have to wear stun-cuffs on his ankles, however. Sterns' trial on the sexual abuse charges is set to begin in July, while the trial for Soto's alleged murder is set to begin in the fall.

Pulse Memorial update: New timeline on project released

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer hopes to have the city's Pulse Memorial built by summer 2027 -- a deadline two years away. On Monday, the Orlando City Commission approved a builder for the project. The Pulse Memorial is dedicated to the 49 people killed, 53 others hurt at the deadly shooting at Pulse Nightclub. Building a memorial has been years in the making, but was marred with funding and other issues with the onePulse foundation. That organization was eventually dissolved and the City of Orlando has since stepped in.

New video: Daycare worker accused of child abuse

Zayda Bayala, 58, was arrested on a charge of child abuse after she allegedly yanked the arm of a young girl and pulled her hair at a daycare. Police alleged that Bayala pulled the girl's hair hard enough, causing her to fall to the ground. New video released today show's officers talking to her about the arrest, as well as video allegedly showing the incident from inside the school.

Madeline Soto case update: Stephan Sterns in court

Stephan Sterns, the man accused of sexually abusing and killing 13-year-old Madeline Soto, appeared in court for a motion hearing. At the motion, the prosecution discussed how Sterns would appear at trial. The judge ruled that Sterns would be allowed to wear civilian clothes during trial, will not have to wear handcuffs, but will be shackled at his feet, and will be allowed to use a felt tip pen to take notes.

Orlando City Council to vote on Pulse Memorial

The City of Orlando is moving forward with plans for a permanent Pulse Memorial, with a vote on a construction company set for Monday's city council meeting. This memorial is significant for survivors and the community, marking progress and honoring the victims of the Pulse shooting. FOX 35's Matt Trezza learns more about the next steps.
