ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 Orlando) - The Orlando City Soccer Club has unveiled a brand new home kit for the 2019 Major League Soccer season. The kit was presented by supporters at the Lion’s Pride soccer pub on Friday.
The jersey's soundwave pattern is a nod to the trademark noise and energy City fans bring to every game at Orlando City Stadium, the club said.
“We couldn’t have selected a more passionate group of fans to be the faces of our Club in 2019,” said Orlando City SC Senior VP of Marketing and Brand Pedro Franklin de Araujo. “From the loud noise to the electric atmosphere they create in our stadium, the new kit was designed with our supporters in mind. We want our players to be constantly reminded of their energy and passion on the field.”
Additional details include the words "Defend the Fortress," along the back neckline, reinforcing the consistent, intimidating atmosphere fans create to give the Lions a competitive home-field advantage.
Toward the bottom left corner, the jock tag wraps up with a flag graphic honoring the Club’s pride for the City of Orlando and its home state of Florida.
To show off your purple pride, fans can also take an Instagram-worthy photo with their new gear while sitting in the new Orlando City-themed big chair which was also revealed Friday night at Wall Street Plaza.
The kits are now available for purchase at the team's store in the Orlando City Stadium and at the Lion's Pride Pub on Church St. You can also get them online at MLSStore.com.
