Orlando City B heads back to North Texas

Orlando City B (0-4-2, 2 points) will visit North Texas SC (4-0-0, 12 points) on Saturday, May 11 for its second matchup of the season. Kickoff is set for 4:20 p.m. ET at Toyota Stadium.

Saturday’s match will serve as OCB’s second away match this season and the second of three contests between North Texas and the Lions. OCB fell short to North Texas in its first away match on Saturday, April 27 in a 1-0 defeat. North Texas will visit Montverde Academy on Friday, September 6 for the final meeting between the two sides this year.

Forward/midfielder Rafael Santos saw his first match as a Lion against Chattanooga last week. The Brazilian native’s resume includes NCAA experience playing with Virginia Commonwealth University. At Virginia Commonwealth, Santos appeared in 55 matches, registering 20 goals. Before his collegiate career, he attended Montverde Academy. He was selected by DC United in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.

The USL League One has seen purple on its Team of the Week for the past three weeks. Juliano Chade was first among the young Lions to be given an accolade with the USL when he was awarded Save of the Week in Week 3 and Team of the Week in Week 5. Defender Matheus Silva was listed for Team of the Week in Week 4. The Week 6 Team of the Week included defender Nathan Simeon. Simeon recorded 11 recoveries and seven clearances against Chattanooga. A product of Orlando City’s Developmental Academy, this is Simeon’s first professional accolade.

Orlando City B returns to Montverde Academy on Friday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts Toronto FC II. This will serve as Toronto FC II’s second visit to Montverde Academy, with OCB scheduled to visit Ontario Soccer Centre later this season.
