The Orlando Apollos' debut was a big success, with the newest professional football team in town dominating its first-ever opponent, the Atlanta Legends, 40-6.
Garrett Gilbert ran the newest version of Steve Spurrier's "fun and gun" offense well, completing 15 of 25 passes for 227 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass, on a version of the famous "Philly Special" play from last year's Super Bowl.
The win came at the team's home field, UCF's Spectrum Stadium. They'll make their first road trip next week, to take on San Antonio Sunday at 4pm.
