Columbus Crew defeats Orlando City 3-2
Following a 41-minute delay to the kickoff due to inclement weather, a late rally gave Columbus Crew SC a 3-2 win over Orlando City SC at MAPFRE Stadium on Saturday.
Orlando City started the game hot, as Yoshi Yotun's shot just over a minute in clanged off the post. They found the breakthrough in the 16th minute, as a cross was redirected in the box and Sacha Kljestan stroked in a one-timer to put the away side ahead.
Crew SC tied up the game in the 51st minute, with a goal that was remarkably similar to Orlando's goal, with Niko Hansen sending in a cross from the right that was turned in by Gyasi Zardes. Just seven minutes later, however, Orlando went ahead once again, as Yotun and Kljestan connected to set up Stefano Pinho. That goal was somewhat controversial, at least from a Crew SC perspective, as they contended Zardes had been fouled on the other end just prior to the build-up, but referee Silviu Petrescu waived off their protests.
