Bucs' Jason Licht: Kendell Beckwith injured in car accident

Tampa Bay Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht told the media on Thursday that second-year linebacker Kendell Beckwith was hurt in a one-car accident last week.

"He was involved in an auto accident," Licht said of Beckwith. "A one-car accident last week, back at home in Louisiana. He was a passenger in a car and had to have surgery on his ankle just Tuesday afternoon. Right now, it's unfair to give a timeline for him. We are very fortunate it wasn't life-threatening for him or the passenger. He'll be out of OTA's and in training camp."

Licht was asked if the injury, requiring surgery, involved a fracture. He said "Yes," with a caveat.

"I don't want to get into too many details right now," he said.

When asked if this injury could sideline Beckwith indefinitely, Licht answered: "Right now everything is on the table."

Organized team activities continue at One Buc Place in advance of training camp in late July.
