A pedestrian was left in critical but stable condition after being struck by deputy's patrol car.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash crash which happened in Ormond Beach around 7:30 p.m. along Hand Avenue.

The 38-year-old woman was taken to Florida Hospital and later transferred to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.  Troopers said the woman was walking in the middle of the roadway and the deputy was unable to spot her in time to stop.
