UCF football to celebrate perfect season in Downtown Orlando

The City of Orlando, the Downtown Development Board, and the University of Central Florida (UCF) are teaming up to host a free block party on Church Street in recognition of UCF football's perfect season.

The family-friendly event will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 8th.

The festivities will include a pep rally. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will also present the team with a Key to the City. Dyer said that "We are proud of Orlando's Hometown Team and hope fans from across Central Florida will come out to celebrate this memorable season."

UCF Athletics Director Danny White also said that "As Orlando's Hometown Team, we're looking forward to celebrating with our community on Monday night. Thanks to the City of Orlando and Mayor Dyer for helping make this national championship celebration special for our student-athletes and fans."

This celebration follows a day of celebrating at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom
