Suspect facing several charges after armed robbery, chase

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance photos from inside a Villages Burger King where at least two armed suspects demanded cash, cleaned out the registers, and drove off. Three employees and one customer were inside.

“We think we're very safe in the Village area. It's not true, but we like to think that anyway,” said Villages resident Barbara Field.

About six hours after the robbery, a deputy spotted the suspects' getaway car. When they tried to stop the car, the suspect led deputies on a high-speed chase. It all ended with the getaway car ramming into a deputy's patrol car.

Deputies arrested the driver, 18-year-old Travius Webber. Deputies did not say whether a second suspect has been arrested or is still on the run. Deputies are confirming to Fox35 that they’re looking to speak with the one customer who was inside during the robbery

Webber faces a laundry list of charges including kidnapping and armed robbery. He's being held on $260,000 dollars' bond.
