SunRail to resume normal service on Friday

SunRail expects to resume its normal service for customers on Friday, Sept. 6 —beginning with the regular 5:06 a.m. southbound train from Sanford as well as the 5:30 a.m. southbound train from DeBary. The first northbound train will leave Poinciana at the usual time of 5:45 a.m.

Crews are working to bring the 61.5-mile Central Florida Rail Corridor back online following Hurricane Dorian. This includes restoring equipment and gates at 127 railroad crossings. SunRail trains, as well as Amtrak and CSX freight trains use this corridor.

On Thursday, Sept. 5, businesses and residents along the rail corridor can expect to see SunRail test trains running.  For more on the progress and resumption of service, go to www.sunrail.com
