Life at the Plant City Strawberry Festival just wouldn't be the same without Miss Nancy.

She is the festival's longest-serving volunteer, with more than 30 years of strawberries and fun under her belt.

Nancy McLean, also known as Miss Nancy, has been giving directions to people at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City for 34 years.

The 84-year-old holds her hometown festival near to her heart.

Since 1984, the Plant City High School Graduate has worked as a volunteer at the information booth at the festival.

"I'm very much a people person," said Nancy. "I like to help you. If you can't find where you are going I like to show you where we can go."

Nancy says she has seen lots of changes at the fair over the years, from the brand new stadium to lots of food vendors.

"Miss Nancy, she's warm and she's always talking about her grandchildren and her son," said Stacey Rodriguez, a volunteer who works with Nancy. "Very, very sweet lady. I really enjoy working with her."

The festival is one of the big highlights of the year for Miss Nancy.

"It never gets old. I do, but it doesn't," Miss Nancy joked. "These 34 years have been great. I don't think I will make 34 more but a couple more I'm sure."
