Shooting investigation launched after man is shot inside an apartment
LAKELAND, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Lakeland Police Department says that a man was shot inside a Lakeland apartment.
The department reported that on Monday, January 22nd, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Lakeland police officers were called to the Lakeland Manor Apartments in reference to a suspicious death.
Upon arrival, officers say they met with the facility's maintenance worker who advised that he had discovered a deceased male inside one of the apartments while performing an inspection.
Officers then say they went into the apartment. They confirmed that 55-year-old Roderick Childs had been shot and killed.
