Sanford home with children inside riddled with bullets
SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A home in Sanford, with seven children inside, was riddled with bullets. Now, the search is on for the shooter.
Sanford police officers were called to the home after a frantic 911 call.
"Somebody just shot up my house," said the caller, Alexis Boykins. "Did you see the vehicle?" the 911 operator asked. "No, I just heard them. I heard the gunshots coming through the window!" Boykins explained.
According to the police, the children inside the house are between the ages of one and 17.
Investigators said the bullets sprayed the front living room area of the house. Luckily, no one was injured after the gunfire rang out around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
A few doors down, another mom heard the shots fired.
"I don't never hear about anything like that going on. It's pretty quiet over here. It's not bad over here like that," said Loretta Bradley.
Police said the woman has been cooperating with investigators and given them some early leads.
According to a police report, neighbors told Boykins they saw a red Nissan Versa parked in front of the house prior to the shooting.
