Road Ranger pulls driver from water in Lake Nona

A Central Florida Expressway Authority Road Ranger is being hailed as a hero after he made a daring rescue, pulling a driver from a car that was submerged in a retention pond.  

It happened on the State Road 417, near Lake Nona. The ranger saw the driver trapped in his car in the water. He dived into the water, broke the window and pulled him out. 

"This duty to act makes him a hero," the Orlando Fire Department tweeted on Thursday.

Road Rangers provide drivers with free assistance along central Florida’s toll roads, including State Road 408, State Road 417, State Road 414, State Road 429, State Road 528 and State Road 451.
