Recycling becomes cost prohibitive for some cities

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - As some cities dump their recycling programs, others are doubling down on the effort.

In Orlando, waste management leaders say recycling is a top priority for customers. The City Beautiful is focused on education and expanding its recycling program in the future.

Just 30 miles up Interstate 4, the City of Deltona suspended its recycling program. Deltona officials say it got too expensive. Everything placed by residents at the curb is now going to the landfill.
