Recounts underway, must meet Thursday deadline or Election Day results stand

Now one week after the election, clashes over the Florida recount continue.

Counties across the state are scrambling to meet the recount deadline. Orange County began their recount Monday, while Brevard County will start on Tuesday. If a county does not submit their results by the deadline, the results from Election Day stand.

Bill Nelson and the League of Women Voters have filed suit, saying that Rick Scott should recuse himself from the recount process. A judge has also denied Scott's request to impound voting machines and ballots in Broward County.

While all this plays out, Scott is heading to Washington on Tuesday to begin to the process of taking Nelson's Senate seat.

Recounts must be completed by Thursday afternoon.
