Police: Woman killed trying to cross busy road in Longwood

LONGWOOD, Fla. - Police say a woman was killed while trying to cross a busy road in Longwood on Thursday night.
Longwood officers say the woman was attempting to cross westbound State Road 434 around 8:30 p.m. and was struck by a vehicle traveling west on the road. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene despite rescue efforts by first responders.
The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with investigators.
