Orlando police officers are trying to determine who shot a man and then set him on fire. The body of 18-year-old Isaiah Hammonds was discovered Monday morning at Eagle Nest Park in west Orlando. He was identified Wednesday.

Detectives late Monday morning had swarmed the area along the Lake Fran Bike Trail, behind homes on the 1700 block of Messina Avenue.  Crime tape was spread over an area about the size of a football field as authorities combed the ground for clues.

"It's scary!  This is not good," said one resident, who said her dogs woke her up around 2 a.m.  "I went from hearing the barking of the dogs to gun shots ... six or seven."   The woman added that she did not hear any voices or screams, so she went back to sleep, only to be awakened by her son around 4 a.m.   He informed her of a fire on the trail near their home.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
