Orlando PM Weather Forecast: August 9, 2025

The unsettled weather pattern holds for the rest of the weekend as a lot of teachers and students are trying to take advantage of the last days of their summer vacation. Meteorologist Laurel Blanchard has the timeline of the rain and lets us know what's happening in the tropics.

The unsettled weather pattern we've been experiencing across Central Florida is expected to continue throughout the weekend, bringing numerous showers and storms.

Here's a look at what to expect from the weather today, tomorrow and heading into next week for the first day of school.

What will the weather look like tonight?

What To Expect:

Storms will continue to fire up through the rest of the afternoon. Most of the widespread storms will be between 5-10 p.m., with storms slowly tapering off after that.

With a LOT of moisture in the atmosphere, torrential rain and flash flooding are the main threats. Some storms tonight could pack a punch and become intense, like what we have seen the past few nights. Other threats throughout the rest of the night are gusty winds and vivid lightning.

Temperatures will cool down significantly if you do get caught in showers this evening. Conditions will stay muggy through the overnight, and lows will fall into the mid 70s.

What's next:

Rain chances stay high through the weekend.

Tropical influences will play a role in the rainy and stormy weather for the rest of the weekend. A weak boundary still intact will trap moisture, keeping our rain chances high for the rest of the weekend. The best chances for storms will be during the afternoon and evening hours of each day, at least through the weekend.

The threats will remain very similar to what we have been seeing so far this week, with more of an emphasis on the rain. The heavy rain expected on top of an already wet week for some could cause more of a risk for flooding. Gusty winds and vivid lightning are also the main threats, with the possibility of small hail with stronger storms.

However, it would be a total washout for a lot of students and teachers trying to make the most of their last day of summer vacation. The morning will be pleasant, with temperatures heating up quickly through the early afternoon before having to dodge storms through the rest of the day.

The clouds will keep our temperatures right around 90 degrees.

What will the weather look like next week?

Dig deeper:

School is back in session! For all the students and teachers headed back to the classroom, have a great school year!

Monday morning starts off dry, but conditions will be muggy waiting at the bus stop as temperatures start off in the upper 70s with partly cloudy skies. Highs will rise back into the lower 90s.

We will see an area of high pressure build back in, and this will finally limit our chances of rain, allowing us to see not as many widespread storms and more sunshine in the afternoon. We will still be seeing some sea breeze storms, just not as many at the start of next week.

With the lower chances of rain at the start of the work and school week, temperatures will start to rise back up to the mid and upper 90s midweek.
