2 people shot, killed in suspected murder-suicide in St. Cloud, police say

Police said a man and woman are dead after a shooting inside a home in St. Cloud. The shooting is suspected to be a murder-suicide.

What we know:

St. Cloud Police responded to a home near Maryland Avenue and 3rd Strete shortly after 2 p.m. on June 20, 2024, after receiving reports of a shooting. Inside, police found a woman in the hallway with a gunshot wound to the head, according to the incident report. She was declared dead at the scene.

Police identified her as 22-year-old Faith Elizabeth Roberts.

A man was found in a nearby back bedroom with a gunshot wound to the head. That man, later identified as 20-year-old Angelo David Maldonado, was rushed to the hospital, where he died, according to police.

Maldonado was described in the report as an ex-boyfriend who did not live at the home.

According to the incident report, the woman's 73-year-old grandfather was asleep in the bedroom when he awoke to the sound of a scream, followed by the sound of two gunshots. He reportedly saw his granddaughter fall partially into the hallway, outside his door.

He armed himself and went into the bedroom, where he saw Maldonado on the floor. He then called 911.

What we don't know:

A motive in the shooting was not immediately known.
