OIA gears up for busy travel weekend

This weekend is expected to be one of the busiest times of year as people begin their holidays.

Officials are estimating that more than 2-point-7 million people will pass through Orlando International Airport, shattering last year's holiday record by 6 percent.

The number is based on travel dates between Dec. 21 and Jan.8.

Officials say Sunday, Dec. 30, is expected to be the busiest travel day of the year with an estimated 162,264 passengers moving through OIA.
