Officials are looking for the woman witnesses say drove into a park in Orange City and abandoned a dog on Wednesday.

According to press release, a woman driving a tan-colored motorhome entered Valentine Park around 9 a.m. on March 27. She then got out of the vehicle with an older, female, brown shepard mix dog and walked her over to the picnic pavilion and left her there. She also left the dog with water and a blanket.

The dog was reportedly wearing a black padded nylon harness with two leashes hooked together. Officials say the dog appeared scared and confused.

The dog was brought to the Southeast Volusia Humane Society and is being cared for.

Anyone with information on the owner is asked to call Volusia County Animal Services at 386-248-1790.
