Multi-million dollar dune restoration project threatened by Hurricane Florence

SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Even though Hurricane Florence isn't heading to Florida, the storm is still having an impact on the Sunshine State.

Strong waves could destroy a brand new multi-million dollar dune restoration project in Satellite Beach.  County leaders say they are expecting eight to ten foot waves. 

The beach manager says, however, that they are not expecting as much beach erosion as previous storms. The winds are not expected to be that strong when the high surf arrives.
