The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing DeBary teen.
They say that 14-year-old Nakayla Kirkman was last seen around 6:20 a.m. Sunday at her home on Clara Vista Street in DeBary. When her father returned home around 4:30 p.m. that afternoon, she was gone.
Detectives say that they do not know Nakayla's destination, but they are exploring the possibility that she is with a relative or someone else who is known to her. She may be with her mother, Lakeshia Jones, who is possibly driving a 2001 Ford Explorer with Illinois tag Q461869.
Nakayla is an African American female, standing between 5’6’’ and 5’8’’ tall, and weighing between 130 and 140 pounds. She has a health condition but took her medication with her.
