Man killed next to car where 2-year-old was found unharmed

Authorities say a man was shot and killed in front of a 2-year-old child in a northwest Harris County parking lot.

Harris County deputies responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex on Veterans Memorial and found the deceased man next to a vehicle.

A young child was found in the backseat of that vehicle. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says the 2-year-old was not injured.

Homicide investigators are looking for leads on the shooter.
