Man killed in Orlando hit-and-run

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A man was killed on Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run in Orlando.

Orlando Police said a person was struck and killed by a car on John Young Parkway in the middle of the road across from some apartments.

Police said that they got a call around 2:30 a.m. about a possible hit-and-run. Orlando firefighters also rushed to the scene to provide aide, but the victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The identity of the victim and a description of the suspects involved has not yet been released. 

Traffic homicide detectives responded to the scene. 

As a result of the crash, the southbound lanes of John Young Parkway between Colonial Drive and Arlington Street are shutdown. The lanes are expected to re-open soon.
