Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a fight at Barber Park on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man in his 40s suffering from serious injuries. He was promptly transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He was identified as 43-year-old Jose Gonzalez.

The suspect, Gabriel Rosas, 37, was arrested and now faces charges of second-degree murder.

Detectives said Gonzalez and Rosas were in a physical altercation at the park and Rosas allegedly stabbed Gonzalez in the neck.

"Rosas is the current boyfriend of Gonzalez’s ex, with whom he shares a child," deputies said.

Barber Park is located in the 3700 block of Gatlin Avenue. Based on their initial investigation, authorities have characterized the incident as a "targeted" incident.
