Lockdown over for 16 Central Florida daycares, telephoned threat declared not credible

Sixteen Central Florida daycares were placed on lockdown on Monday morning, after a threat  was reported to authorities.

The corporate office of Lady Bird Academy confirmed that 16 of their locations in Central Florida were on lockdown. It was later lifted, as law enforcement determined that the threat was not credible. The calls originated from Georgia, they said.

The lockdown occurred because of a threat over telephone  was received at one location. The other 15 locations were placed on lockdown as a precaution. The lockdown lasted for approximately 45 minutes.

Lake Mary police officers visited the location on Timacuan Boulevard. Other locations were reportedly checked out as well.
