Lake County deputies shoot armed person during domestic battery response, sheriff's office says

LEESBURG, Fla. - Authorities are investigating a situation in which an armed person died after being shot by multiple Lake County deputies responding to a call Thursday afternoon.
The sheriff's office reported all law enforcement personnel were safe and uninjured.

Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to an armed domestic battery 911 call around 3 p.m., Aug. 20.
When deputies arrived at a Leesburg home in the 10100 block of Morningside Drive, a person armed with a gun confronted them, the sheriff's office said.
The armed person's actions "forced our deputies to discharge their firearms," resulting in the person dying, LCSO reported.
