Florida man hit, killed 8-month-old with car amid argument with woman, police say

An 8-month-old Florida boy has died after he was hit and killed by a car allegedly following an argument between a man and a woman, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

What we know:

According to a post on X by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Justin Golden, 20, was driving with a female passenger and the baby when he and the passenger got into an argument.

At some point, Golden took the baby out of the car. As he drove away, he hit the baby, the sheriff's office said. The baby ultimately died.

The Charges:

Golden was arrested and booked into jail on charges of aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide, JSO said.

What we don't know:

Officials have not clarified the relationship between the man and the woman, nor the relationship between the baby. Officials have also not released the name of the baby, nor any details on the woman. 

As of Monday, the arrest report with the probable cause statement was unavailable. FOX 35 has requested a copy of that report.

What they're saying:

"The investigation continues. We, with our partners at the State Attorney’s Office, will stop at nothing to get justice for the baby," JSO said in a statement.
