Gator found wandering in St. Cloud backyard
ST. CLOUD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Melanie Rodriguez thought her backyard was safe from wildlife, until a three-foot gator found a way in.
“There’s a gator in our backyard, what do I do?” Rodriguez panicked and called Florida Fish and Wildlife to help pick the gator up.
She said she was inside her home Friday, when she looked out her sliding glass door to see the estimated three-foot-long reptile. She said it was just hanging out.
“I literally just watched this gator walk all around my yard,” she said.
Now, Rodriguez and her neighbors are trying to figure out how the creature got there.
They said they’re not near any lakes, and each property is surrounded by a six-foot-high privacy fence.
“There aren't really any holes for it to come in through,” she said.
Rodriguez said her husband checked, but couldn’t find a gap in the fence.
FWC removed the gator, but didn’t confirm how it got inside the yard.
