Florida officer injured after striking horse while driving patrol car, FHP said

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said that an Orlando police officer in a patrol car struck a horse on Saturday morning.

They said that around 5 a.m. Saturday, the officer struck the horse at CR 425 and Geneva Drive in Geneva. 

The officer received minor injuries, FHP confirmed. The condition of the horse is unknown.

There are no charges pending.
