Florida officer arrested after road rage incident

A northeast Florida corrections officer has been charged with pointing a gun at a family during a road rage incident in Jacksonville.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1rYlwaZ) reports that Andrew Futch, a corrections officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, was arrested Thursday.

Sheriff's officials say a man reported the incident on April 5 after flagging a patrol car and saying someone had pointed a gun at him in traffic. The driver had exited the highway, but police say Futch's car was still in traffic that was slowing near downtown.

Futch has worked as a corrections officer for about 3 years. He is being held on a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon. He is on voluntary leave after the arrest.
