Firefighters injured after massive fire breaks out in apartment building

ORANGE COUNTY - Firefighters are on the scene of a fire at the Twelve Oaks Apartment Homes on Oakbend Street near Windermere.

The fire broke out around 2 a.m. and took about 40 minutes to get under control.

Two firefighters were injured at the scene.  They were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and are expected to be okay.  One firefighter suffered second degree burns from a flashover.

53 people are currently displaced.  At least three apartments were destroyed.

There is no word yet on a cause of the fire.
